| Vessels |
Zavitz Gallery University of Guelph Guelph, Ontario |
November, 1998 |
The theme of vessels is closely related to the human body as a vessel. The cropped sections of the figure illustrate human interaction with vessels in actions such as pouring, drinking, and carrying. The female form is used to celebrate what has been traditionally called women’s work. The paintings are meant to evoke a sense of power within these assigned gender roles. |
